The grapes that went into our 2005 Cabernet were harvested in early September and the wine was aged for 23 months in 70% new French oak barrels. The wine was made by Rob Hunter and from 100% cabernet sauvignon grapes grown in our vineyard. Our 2005 “W” Cabernet was named in memory of a close cousin, dear friend and wine lover, Warren Arnoff. We know he would have loved this wine. Our W Cabernet has a deep ruby red color with the scent of spicy red plums, violets and cherries. The wine has bright concentrated ripe fruit flavors with strong hints of mocha and berries and a soft, elegant velvety finish. This wine is exceptionally food friendly and can be enjoyed now.
Our 2006 Cabernet was also made by Rob Hunter. The grapes were harvested on September 23rd and the wine was aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 22 months. The 2006 Cabernet has a deep ruby red color with spicy red fruit hints of black olive and cedar. The wine has a very ripe full mouth feel with red fruit and cinnamon stick flavors. It is a very food friendly wine with full tannins and, due to its unique character, should be decanted. Our Jack Brooks Cabernet is made in the Bordeaux style and pairs well with all types of foods especially lamb, beef and cheese.
Our 2007 Cabernet was made by respected winemaker Marco DiGiulio. Marco uses a minimalist approach to winemaking with his goal to extract and retain the true essence and unique characteristics of each vineyard. Our 2007 Cabernet is an outstanding example of how well his minimalist approach works. The fruit that went into our 2007 Cabernet was entirely grown in our vineyard and carefully hand harvested on September 22, 2007.
Our 2008 Jack Brooks Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a handcrafted limited-release cabernet sauvignon from our boutique estate in Napa Valley. The wine was made by up and coming winemaker Michael Weyna. The goal was to extract and retain the true essence and unique characteristics of the vineyard. The grapes were harvested by hand on September 12, 2008.
To the eye, the wine displays a gorgeous ruby red color with streaks of purple. Mouthfilling flavors of black currants and deep cherry are nicely paired with hints of cedar, toasty oak and soft tannins. This is a subtle cabernet, with a compelling, earthy richness. Silky and balanced with soft, ripe tannins, this wine is approachable now, and will age gracefully for up to ten years.
